We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the work we do. We will assist with engineering questions or the selection of patterns if desired. We keep our customers informed on the progress of their jobs and contact them regarding any technical decisions that must be made. The customers' wants and needs are understood, and customer satisfaction is a priority.
03
Delivery
With texturing being one of the last steps in mold making, we know that a fast turnover time is a must. We strive to make that time minimal. We take pride in prompt and expedient service while maintaining our reputation for quality.
04
Pattern Availability
AMTEX has an unlimited supply of various texture patterns for our customer's immediate use. If a new or exclusive pattern is desired, we have the equipment, ability, and ingenuity to provide it.
05
Research and Development
Our Custom Designing and Consulting Department is constantly developing new textures and techniques to meet the growing demands of the Molding Industry. We continually work to develop new processes and applications to ensure that our customers receive the highest quality texturing available.
06
Photo Engraving
We can etch letters, logos, or any artwork onto mold surfaces. Depth is determined by the size and style of the characters being etched. Our photographic techniques allow us to reduce or enlarge negatives to enhance the appearance of artwork or textures.
07
Welds
Sometimes a mold must be welded during fabrication or after it has been in production. Whenever welds appear on mold surfaces, problems can arise with texturing. Any differences in hardness, composition, or grain structure of the weld, as compared to the parent metal, may cause a difference texture appearance between the two. When welds are necessary to repair damaged areas, we are available to answer any question regarding how the mold should be treated.
08
E.D.M.
All mold surfaces must be completely free of Electrical Discharge Machining scale to ensure a consistent etch.
09
Draft
It is extremely important that molds be designed and fabricated with sufficient draft angles to help assure proper part release. The draft angle for exterior walls should be 1 to 1 1/2 degrees for each .001" of direction of draw. 1 to 1 1/2 degrees draft per .001" depth of texture does not always apply to interior walls. Today, intricate designs and engineered materials may require added draft. It is suggested that you discuss any such requirements with AMTEX prior to design completion. Slight design or pattern modifications often allow for the use of special techniques that make it possible to meet the challenges of design restrictions with out sacrificing appearance.
10
Mold Finish
The equivalent of 320/400 emery finish free of scratches, cutter, file, and dis marks is acceptable on mold surfaces to be textured. Surface treatments or any plating must be stripped prior to texturing.
